First Solar Japan Operations Center Tour

First Solar Japan established a dedicated operations center in Tokyo in early 2017 to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions to customers, including third-party projects. The First Solar Japan Operations Center remotely monitors plants seven days a week. Our specially trained operations staff supervises the ongoing operation of each plant, tracks performance, detects and diagnoses issues and notifies owners or maintenance crews when on-site intervention is needed. Additionally, we interface directly with grid operators and regulators, ensuring compliance and optimal plant performance.

First Solar provides operations and maintenance (O&M) services in Japan as we believe it is important to operate and maintain solar power plants in a responsible and effective way. With the proper O&M strategy in place, plant owners can optimize asset performance and secure long-term returns. First Solar currently manages over 100MW of assets in Japan and has a goal of 1GW under management by 2020. The First Solar Japan Operations Center offers state-of-the-art technology, expert staff and leading practices that optimize plant profitability. With our operational experience and excellence, and global track record of over 5.4GW in operation and more than 7.2GW contracted capacity, we are best positioned to maximize the generation of solar power plants for customers in Japan.
